CCIMBO phase 1 KOSMOS

After an intensive preparation period of developments, tests and trainings, the 6 fish auctions of the CCIMBO officially switched to the online trading platform KOSMOS at the end of May. “The KOSMOS project marks a technological breakthrough that is necessary for the Cornouaille auctions to remain attractive”, says Christophe Hamel, Director of the Cornouaille auctions.

Our account manager Steff Lyssens explains how the centralised online sale of “blue fish” will be executed through KOSMOS from now on. “All supply is entered into KOSMOS at night at each auction location (Douarnenez, Concarneau, Saint-Guénolé and Loctudy) where the weighing tickets are printed. The buyers can consult the supply expectation, after which all entered lots are sold by 1 central auctioneer on KOSMOS.”

“The transaction tickets are printed at the actual landing locations, so the lots can be transported directly from the auction to the buyer.  Everything is linked to our administrative package for further settlement”, he continues. “Finally, all lists, reports and statistics for the auctioneer and the buyers are available in the information portal.”

Proud KOSMOS pioneer in France

The director of the fish auctions, Mr. Christophe Hamel, is satisfied with the launch. “KOSMOS meets our newest standards, which were first of all to modernise our sales system to offer our buyers a new 100% Internet technology, allowing us to increase our throughput and thus broadcast more information before and during the sale (sound, video, image, etc.).”

“Furthermore, with KOSMOS we can massify our sales and separate the landing location from the sales location”, he continues. “The system also offers our buyers a modern shopping interface that they can design themselves.”

“I would like to thank the AUCXIS team for the rigorous project management and the quality of the services provided for the implementation of the first phase of the project,” he concludes.

The second phase of the KOSMOS project for the CCIMBO is the integration of all hardware such as the conveyor belts, LED walls, input terminals, tablets etc. to sell all fish both locally and remotely.  When this phase is completed, all supply – from any auction – will be sold through KOSMOS. The execution of this phase is planned in the autumn.
